Message from Dr. Kaminski
Next week our 3rd and 4th grade students will begin the spring ISTEP assessment. If you have a child in either grade, please help our students achieve their personal best by offering them time to play after school, an appropriate bed time (device free), and healthy breakfast. Remember, there is nothing extra that is necessary in preparation. We are simply asking them to show us what they have learned throughout their elementary experience. Please express your sincere belief in their ability to do their personal best!
I want to thank the Rago family and Virginia Minton for donating two very beautiful office chairs to replace my torn and warn principal chairs. The students and parents who visit me will sit in comfort and cleanliness for years to come! Thank you!
Have a wonderful weekend and see everyone next week!

Student Council Fundraiser
Dear BSE Families,
Don't forget, our Student Council Fundraiser is NEXT WEEK!!!
This year BSE student council will be collecting money because.....
Have you ever wondered what it is like in a hospital room, or been in one?
Well student council is collecting money so we can go buy
fun, colorful, bright sheets to brighten up a boring room. :)
Our goal is to raise $1,000 to buy sheets.
If we reach our goal, look forward to a
fun surprise with Dr. K and Mrs. Rich.
Starts : April 17
Ends: April 21
Thanks!
- Maggie Walters, 4th Grade Student Council Representative
Sheets from home is a local organization which focuses on children
battling cancer and have to endure extended hospital stays.
The goal is simple: replace sterile, white hospital sheets with fun, uplifting ones,
in hopes that this simple change will help make a hospital feel a little more like home.

“Leon Logothetis is a global adventurer, motivational speaker & philanthropist. It wasn’t always that way. He used to be a broker in the city of London where he felt uninspired and chronically depressed. He gave it all up for a life on the road. This radical life change was inspired by the inspirational movie The Motorcycle Diaries.
The days of living and working behind his ‘slab of wood’ (or desk to the layman) are well and truly over. His new passion: Finding ways for your inner rebel (that voice that tells you, you are worth so much more than you think) to come out and play.
The inner rebel tells you that your life is yours. And anything you dream of is possible. Anything. And that the fuel for all this delicious potential is simple: Kindness and harnessing the power of human connection. And. Doing it all with a smile on your face and a spring in your step!”

Early Release Mondays Coming to HSE (2017-2018 School Year)
Dear HSE Parents and Guardians:
To provide teachers with consistent and more frequent opportunities for professional development, Hamilton Southeastern Schools will implement a 20-minute, early-release day each Monday for students, K-12, beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. In turn, teachers will remain 25 minutes later on Mondays for a total of 45 minutes of professional development time each week. The first observance will be Monday, August 14, 2017.
The new weekly meetings will replace the four professional development half days currently in the 2016-2017 calendar. A link to the 2017-2018 school calendar is below:
http://www.hse.k12.in.us/resources/pdf/ADM/calendars/districtCalendar1718.pdf
High-quality teaching remains the standard in Hamilton Southeastern Schools, and we look forward to advancing professional development. We realize that such a change – once a week – impacts your schedules, and you need as much advance notice as possible to plan for next year. Thank you for your cooperation, and your continuous support of our teachers and students.
Sincerely,
HSE Schools
