3rd Grade
Newsletter for March 2, 2017
From the Teacher's Pen
Is March going to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb? With all the illnesses happening in February, it seems like we had our 'lion' already and we deserve the 'lamb'. Thank you so much for rushing to get all the paperwork in these last few days. The play at the Washington Performing Arts Center was wonderful, and had the students bopping with the African drums.
Pioneer Farm Update
I am pleased to announce that the following parents have been confirmed as the all-day chaperones for Pioneer Farm: Jonny Bartsch, Erin Timms, Liza Schmiedeberg, Christina O'Keefe, Francois Cady, and Ron Mathews. These parents will meet with me to plan the dinner menu as well as other logistics. Please let me know if there are foods that your child will not or cannot eat.
Many of you have also indicated that you will be willing to drop us off and pick us up. I will definitely confirm with you as soon as I have all the permission slips in. Then we start the long process of checking all clearances.
Lenten Observance
What's Happening in Specialist Classes
- In Music: the 3rd graders have been practicing Mass songs and will serve as the choir and cantors for tomorrow's Mass.
- In P.E.: the 3rd graders are working on the Maypole dance in preparation to perform at the May Crowning Mass. This would be a great event to invite friends and families to.
- Technology: the 3rd graders are building keyboarding skills. If possible, let them practice at home with abcya.com or typingclub.com - remind them to use the home keys.
Ask A 3rd Grader
