The Triton Tribune Parent Edition
Be Kind ~ Be Awesome ~ Make The Right Choices
Hello Amazing Triton Families,
“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.” ~Paulo Coelho~
Happy Memorial Weekend!
Here it is... the final issue of this year's newsletter. We have made it through this unforgettable and historical school year! Although I am sad to send you off to high school, I am also excited and expectant about how you will use what you have learned as a Triton in high school. Saying goodbye is never easy but as Paulo Coelho, author of The Alchemist stated, "If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello." Eighth graders, you will start a new journey called high school. I know you will be so amazing wherever you will be. Seventh graders, you now have time to refresh and re-energize as you transition to eighth grade. Whatever your new hello is, you have learned how strong you are as a person and you can go forward confident in the knowledge that you will more than survive.
As we celebrate Memorial Day, I want to recognize all our military families for the sacrifice they have given to serve this country and to ensure our freedom. It takes special individuals to give their lives in service of a nation. I am a military wife so I know what it means to have my husband go on a six-month deployment to carry out his duties. My eldest, Emmelie, was born two weeks after he left for deployment. It was tough being alone and in a new place where I did not have family. So, to the parents and children who remain behind, we also thank you for your sacrifice for releasing your spouses/parents to do what they have committed to do. And to those families who lost a loved one while serving, we are especially grateful as we remember them this weekend.
Please read all the information below regarding the last week of school, promotion and the second dose vaccination site, if that pertains to you. Also, seventh grade parents, if you have not completed your registration and submitted all supporting documents, please do so before you leave so that you can truly enjoy summer. Here is the link for in-person support to complete the process.
Also, we are always looking to improve our work at ELM. Please take time to complete the exit survey that pertains to you. We will use your answers to help us better serve incoming families.
Finally, as the year comes to close, we will be closing the PTSO ELM Facebook page as we prepare to officially open our own ELM Facebook page. The current ELM Facebook page will close on June 7. Follow the two instructions below to follow us.
- Click on this link to friend request Elm Tritons. This will take you to our Facebook Profile.
- Click on this link to follow and like our Eastlake Middle School Tritons Facebook Page.
Using this business format of Facebook, we hope to increase our social media activity and to promote a positive atmosphere in our Triton community. We are also working on our own mobile app that you will be able to download on your phone. That will also be released during the summer. We are excited about this new endeavor.
Please read the newsletter in its entirety as there are a lot of information for the week and the rest of the school year.
Let's have an amazing week!
