Golden Hills Eagles grow together, learn with passion, act with kindness, and change the world!

Message from the Principal

Dear Golden Hills Families,

At Golden Hills we really want a strong partnership with families. Family engagement refers to what families do at home and in the community to support their children’s learning. There is a lot of research that shows that when families are involved and engaged students do better. We want this partnership with you.

Join Golden Hills Parent Teacher Group! Only 4-6 meetings a year to plan fun activities for our students and staff! New PTG members will be acknowledged in our monthly newsletter!

First Meeting will be on September 8th from 3-4!

Join our Golden Hills School Site Council. SSC is made up of parents, principal, teachers and other school personnel. The primary responsibility is to identify common goals and assist the leadership team in establishing a plan to achieve the goals. We will address any questions you may have about Golden Hills. First Meeting will be on September 8th from 3-4!

Attendance matters for our students. Our goal is to have 95% or above of our students at school. We are currently at 94.85%. Please let us know if we can support your students' attendance in any way! We do not want any student to miss out on our fun activities planned based around attendance.

New this year, starting this week, we are lucky to have 2 art consultants visit each class every week for an hour for the next ten weeks! We are so excited to be able to provide this opportunity for our students. We will have an Art Showcase on November 17th to display the art!

Please feel free to reach out to me anytime you have a question or concern,

Thank you,

Kristi Napoli

ATTENDANCE Matters:

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Students can still fall behind if they miss just 1 or 2 days every few weeks.

Reading For Education is a year-long fundraiser. The school earns money when families and friends shop online at Reading For Education.com. Information will be sent home on September 9th.

Math Festival: On October 12th Golden Hills will be having a math festival for students during the school day. . We will need 12 family members to volunteer to supervise and support the festival throughout the day. In order to volunteer you must complete a volunteer form, get fingerprinted and be TB tested. This is for our students' safety. Parents DO NOT need to be experts at math to volunteer to help students at the Math Festival. They can learn everything they need right at their table! Parents need not be fluent English speakers to help at a table.

Parents will not be acting as teachers that day; they will be giving simple assistance to students, often helping one or two students at a time read and understand the directions or get started on a Math Festival task.

Please contact the office if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.

Save the Date: October 12th from 5- 6pm!

On the evening of October 12th there will be a Math Festival for families to attend!
