Creativity, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, & Leadership

What a great first few weeks we've had in GT LEAD! I have been enjoying getting to know your children as they accept challenges and stretch their thinking. Check out some pictures below and be sure to ask your children what they've been doing in GT LEAD.

Not sure what to ask? Try these for starters:

What has challenged you most during GT LEAD?

In what ways have you shown leadership?

What problem did you solve that made you feel most proud?

During what experience did you have the most fun in GT LEAD?

What activities allowed you to show your creative side?

Want to Get More Involved?

SAGE, Supporting and Advocating for Gifted Education, Grapevine/Colleyville's parent support group for families and teachers of gifted children is looking for a representative from Silver Lake Elementary School. SAGE's goal is to "give a voice to gifted children in our community". They state "with (parent/teacher) support we can advocate on their behalf, network with each other, and provide (gifted children) with access to challenging enrichment activities, showcase opportunities, and programs designed just for gifted students."

What would you do as the parent representative of SLE? Your first responsibility would be to begin our Parent Membership Drive! I would help you to connect with other GT parents on our campus, so you may share SAGE's information, resources, and events.

Please contact Kim Farbisz, SAGE president, with questions about this position at
