Parent Portal
The Purpose of Parent Portal
Is Your Parent Portal Account Activated? Stay engaged in your child’s education by setting up and signing into the Columbus City Schools Parent Portal. Through the Parent Portal, you’ll be able to securely access valuable information like:
- Teacher Contact
- Grades
- Course Schedules
- Daily Attendance
- Missed Assignments
- Paperless Applications for: School Choice, Summer School, and Career Tech
- Update Contact Information**
- Student Fees (and pay them online)
- AND SO MUCH MORE
**The most updated contact information for your child is needed for the District and its schools to communicate with your family via phone, text, and email. It’s very important to update your child’s contact information every year, and now it’s much easier through the Parent Portal.
FULL Infinite Campus Video Tutorial
CCS hosts weekly Zoom sessions addressing the most pressing topics and answering the most common questions families have. Called Virtual Family Engagement Sessions, these sessions are hosted by the Department of Communications and Engagement and feature expert District staff and many of our community partners sharing information and insights on important topics.
They are held from 6:00pm to 7:00pm every Tuesday and Thursday.

Get the App!
- Download the Infinite Campus PARENT app to your phone. (The STUDENT app is one your student will download when they are older and in middle or high school.)
- Type 'Columbus' when it asks for the district then select CCS and Ohio
- You are either a NEW USER or an EXISTING USER
REMEMBER!!!
- Only those listed as 'guardians' upon enrollment at CCS may have access to the Parent Portal
- There are separate activation keys/codes for each guardian or parent so each guardian or parent can set up their own individual user name and password
- If there is a desire to remove a parent or caregiver that is listed as 'guardian,' you will need to contact CCS Central Enrollment at (614) 365-4011 or the CCS Fact Line (614) 221-3228.
Getting Started
New User
Activating Your Account
- Go to the page for New Users
- Click on the button that says NEW USER ACTIVATION.
- Enter your ACTIVATION CODE (contact your school to obtain one if needed). We know it’s long - that helps keep the data secure - so type carefully. Once the code has been activated, it can’t be used again.
- Follow the prompts to set up your username/password and to add a recovery email address.
When you make a user name and password, SAVE IT! This will be your account information until your child/ren graduate/s! Also remember the email you used to enroll your student. Many technical issues come from parents forgetting these key pieces of issues and can lead to missed due dates and frustrations.

Existing User
Go to the Infinite Campus login for Existing Users
Enter your user name and password.
PARENTS: Make sure you are logging into the PARENT Portal, NOT the student portal!

Forgot your Username or Password?
NOTE: You MUST remember the email address you first signed up with in order to reset or find these items. If you cannot remember this email address, you can contact the Parent Portal Access and present your:
- ID
- Student Information

Video Tutorials for:
Viewing Your Student's ID Number
- Click the top right drop down menu of your student's profile picture.
- Select the student you want to know more about
- Their ID # is next to their profile photo
*If you cannot see their information, make sure you logged in initially on the "parent portal", not the "student portal"
ANNUAL UPDATE
Important Annual Forms are also completed online through the Annual Update in the Portal. This includes acknowledgements such as Emergency Contact Information, Consent for Release of Student Information, Internet Acceptable Use, FERPA Rights, and the Compact Form.
Go to the 3 bars/lines at the top left of the screen
Select 'More'
Select "Annual Update'

Need a Different Language?
- Go to the figure of a person at the top right of the screen
- Select 'Language'
- Choose from eight different languages in which you may view the Parent Portal

Viewing Grades
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the top left hand corner)
- Click 'Grades'
- If you don't know what a grade means, click on the arrow to the right of the grade
- Click on the 'i' to the right of the grade
- An explanation should appear the describes what each grade means
- If there is not grade, then it is still being processed or updated
Viewing Attendance
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the top left hand corner)
- Click 'Attendance'
- Check each quarter and review 'unexcused absences' in red
- Look at the date of the absence or tardy (not the number of absences as it refers to the number of classes missed, not the number of days, i.e., reading class, math class, gym class, etc.)
- If an 'unexcused absence' or 'tardy' is due to an illness, doctor's appointment, religious holiday, or family funeral, please let the office know so it may be reviewed and possibly changed to an 'excused absence'

Updating Address
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the tope left hand corner)
- Click on 'More'
- Scroll down to 'Annual Update'
- Follow the instructions
- Many families will upload a utility bill or signed lease with the guardian's name on it and new address (there are also other forms of documentation CCS will accept as well)
- If a guardian's name is not on the documentation, please refer to the Verification of Residency form below that will need to be completed and uploaded in the Annual Update in order for your address to be changed

Adding or Updating Current Phone Number
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the tope left hand corner)
- Click on 'More'
- Click "Address Information"
- Click "Update" on Phone section
- Enter your phone number

Paying Fees
- Click "Fees" on the left hand menu (3 bars/lines)
- On the desired fee, click "add to cart"
- View your cart on the upper right hand corner under the student selection list
- Click on "Add Payment Method"
- Enter Payment information
- Click "Submit Payment" at the bottom

Course Schedule
Here you will see your student's course titles, teacher names, and the time of each course.
Calendar
Here you can see which assignments are due on which days and click on those assignments as the are listed on the right hand side of the calendar.
Teacher Contacts and School Announcements
Make sure to check your school announcements on the first tab "Message Center" of the 3 bar left hand menu.
