Our Week in Pre-K
9/18/2020
The students have been with me for 4 full weeks now and yet every day, their backpacks have gone home pretty much empty.
The reason it is hard to send home anything in the backpack is because nothing fits....
I can’t send home how we are getting more comfortable and confident in our daily routines every single day. I can’t send home how we help a friend up if they fall or cheer when they write their name for the first time. I can’t send home our daily prayer intentions and how we are learning God can hear us when we pray.
I can’t send home the giggles of the children when our puppet Mr. Frog comes out to say hi and deliver our question of the day!
No, the things we have been learning are WAY TOO BIG for our backpacks!
Yes, if you looked inside our backpacks, it would seem like we haven’t been learning but if you look outside of the backpack...
I have been sending home a few things like paint speckles on faces and chalk or glue on our shirts.
Oh, and I suspect that a few songs are being sung on the car ride home along with the silly actions.
Yes, if you looked inside our backpacks, it would seem like we haven’t been learning but if you look outside of the backpack, you will see cooperation, friendship, independence, collaboration, discovery, testing, questioning, trial and error, confidence, exploration, and play!
Have a great weekend!
