Ring Leader Tidbits
~ Shout out to everyone on Sunshine Committee and all who helped set up and bring items! It was a great treat to be able to enjoy so much yummy food on Friday.
~ I can't believe we are almost to NOVEMBER! The year is flying by, and before you know it, we will be out for Christmas break! Thank you for continuing to work SO hard each and every day to make Elkins such a great place to be! This Wednesday, we will have a special fall treat in the lounge for you all to enjoy during our Storybook Character Day! Stop by the lounge on Wednesday to help yourself to our special "apple surprise" just to say how much we appreciate all you do each day! :)
~ Next Monday will be a staff meeting with our first instructional strategies session. We will discuss reciprocal teaching. I really hope you all are utilizing the blended learning framework and using the blended learning curriculum notebook in order to help improve pedagogy AND technology at the same time. I know we've all been busy, but refresh your memory about blended learning and be ready to share on Monday how you have incorporated this so far into your instruction (there may be prizes for those who share). :)
School Bulletin
- We are in need of heavy coats for students to use this winter. If you have any your children have outgrown, or your're out shopping and see a great sale, we would love to increase our supply.
- Wednesday is Storybook Character Day! Make sure to take pictures and send to me so that I can post! If you have students who wear masks, please make them take those off.
- We will be having visitors in the coming weeks from admin, and we will be walking classrooms. Please remember a few things and keep these up to date:
1. Learning targets on the board are up to date and applicable for students
2. PDSA boards are visible and up to date
3. Student data binder/goal setting is taking place and available to look at when needed
4. Student work in the halls... PLEASE put work in the halls and have the learning target (what the purpose of the work was) posted as well. This helps SO much!
- Our tutor, Diana Oliviera, will start working with students next week. Right now, we have her working with 3rd & 4th grade on Tues/Thursday, and we have her working with all levels of ESL students and struggling KG groups on Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who sent me names!
- We will also look in the spring to see what grade levels need additional tutoring help, as we get ready for the testing season! Remember, to keep an eye on your new students and let me know if you see anything that they need in order to be successful at Elkins!
