Longer days are here!

With the new year here we can start looking forward to longer days. I am ready for some bright sunshine and warmer weather!

Even with the longer days we still have cold and flu season. Reminder: If you or your child are ill, please call your parent educator to reschedule. She will work with you to get your visit rescheduled

Inclement weather information

Please remember, if Lee's Summit Schools close for weather related reasons, then you will need to communicate with your Parent Educator concerning your visit that day. If the roads are hazardous, most likely your visit will need to be rescheduled. Thanks you!

Goal Setting as this year begins:

Many people like to set goals at the beginning of the year. Nutrition is something most people think of as the new year begins. Some helpful ideas: Write your goal so it is visible; get a buddy to help keep you accountable; set a great example for your children. Talk with your parent educator to help you with goal setting.

Making small changes can have a big impact.

Calling 3, 4 and 5 Year Olds

Has your child had a developmental screening?

If you parent educator has not screened your child in the home this school year, you can call 986-2486 to schedule a developmental screening for your 3, 4 or 5 year old. Check with your parent educator if you have questions.
My "Screen Time"Tips:
1. Set a schedule and stick to it.
2. Keep screen time away from bedtime (by at least an hour)
3. Choose high-quality, educational apps. My favorites: ABC Mouse & Amazon Free Time
4. Use a timer during screen time and be there to do a real activity or spend real one-on-one time together right after to help them transition.
5. Sit with your child during screen time.
6. Avoid giving your child screen time when they are upset or during a fit
