If your returning marcher is using their current shoes, they MUST be polished before our next performance. The best polish for this is Kiwi Express Shine Instant Black Shoe Sponge, located in the shoe accessory aisle at most grocery stores. Additionally, if your child wants to shine their shoes before the practice, Kristi will have these shoe shine sponges available at Thursday night practices. Please make sure your student's shoes are shined BEFORE Friday's game.

Secret Buddy Bags
The Spirit Committee is helping to coordinate SECRET BUDDY BAGS this year! On Thursday our Drum Majors shared this information with all RCG members, but we wanted to make sure parents/guardians are in the loop as well.
Here are the details:
- Secret Buddy Bags are a Royal Command & Guard tradition that students participate during the competition portion of the season.
- Your child will be assigned a secret band buddy by the drum majors and on each competition day those participating bring a small bag with either a snack, a drink, candy and/or a toy for their secret band buddy. This first competition is September 18th.
- Participation is OPTIONAL but most students participate.
- The bags are anonymously distributed so the kids have fun all season trying to guess who their secret buddy is. Don’t spend a lot of money on this. Students will often include a small dollar store toy that the kids think will cater to their buddy’s personality or other interests. Everyone has a laugh at some of the goofy things they get.
- IMPORTANT: The onus is on the students to bring in and drop off their bags. Reminders will be sent but if a student forgets to bring their buddy bag the recipient will be left out.
- Students shouldn’t spend more than $5 or so and bags should be no bigger than 8".
- No food/beverage that requires refrigeration should be included and no large items (e.g. 2 liter bottles), please.
- Buddy’s name AND instrument should be prominently displayed on the bag.
- Please complete the form by Friday, the 27th so we can ensure everyone has let us know whether or not they would like to participate.
- The form should be completed by the STUDENT and asks for their favorite candies, snacks, and beverages.
- If there are allergies to consider, please remember to include them.
- There is an "opt out" option included on the form.
- The form can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe0XQfbNicTTJnnumI-t7RXuP3wzk3wVfq3rzVKXBMwpuBydw/viewform
