What's Up in the Classroom?
Writing - Unfortunately, we didn't have a whole lot of time this week for writing due to the MAP tests. We started a Christmas project today called, "Elf For Hire." Students will be persuading Santa to hire them on as a Christmas elf. Hopefully, we will finish by Christmas so the students can share their story with you.
Math - Students were pre-tested for measurement this week. We will be adjusting our math groups as needed based on their results. On Monday, students will do the algebra and word problem assessment.
Science - Students are done with their flashlights and commercials. They will be taking their test tomorrow to show their knowledge of electricity.
Spelling - Students are continuing their study of phonics with their spelling teacher. We will not have spelling next week due to the shortened week.
MAP Testing
We have officially finished our winter MAP tests ~ Yeah! As a whole, the students did quite well. This was a check point to see where they are at as of right now. It is one of many tools we use to measure their growth. If your child has not shared their score with you, ask them. They all know what they got and what their goal was!
Laid Back Day
Important Dates
It's hard to believe that winter break is almost here. Students will be off from December 24 to January 2. School resumes on January 5th. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
