Week of: May 9th 2022
Message from Mrs. Gilbert & Mr. Ramalho
Happy Mother's Day to all of our Mothers out there, we hope you enjoy a joyous and restful weekend. We also want to send out a BIG thank you to anyone and everyone who helped with our Teacher Appreciation luncheon today. It was an incredible event and yet another demonstration of our strong and caring South Row community.
Math MCAS will be the week of May 9th for our 3rd and 4th graders.
Our Movement challenge continues and the competition is on! Students have logged over 42,000 movement minutes since we started. Grade 3 is in the lead with 12, 690 minutes. Grade 4 is in second with 11,145 minutes.
We will be hosting an additional Walk to School Day next week. Our numbers were a little low due to the weather. Additionally, we had a highly successful Fitness for Cure event this past week. Thank you to all who attended, volunteered, and/or donated. With our collaborative efforts with Center School we raised over $3,666.00 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Thank you to the Chelmsford Fire Department for joining us for High Five Friday!
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson

Walk to School Day - Take 2!
Volunteer Opportunities
Grade 3 Engineering Day
3rd Grade Engineering Day: After a 2 year hiatus our 3rd Grade Engineering Day is back in person! This fun event allows our students the hands-on opportunity to put into practice some of the science concepts they've learned this year. We have organized 4 fun activities for the students to participate in during the day with their class. At the end of the day, the whole grade will come together in the cafe for a fun demonstration all together. Each session will open with a brief review of the topic/concept and then a hands on activity for the students to work on with their classmates.
We need parent volunteers to help guide and facilitate the sessions as well as the grade level demonstration. No engineering or science background needed! Please see the sign-up genius link below for information and to sign-up to volunteer or email Denille Ruth denille.ruth@gmail.com. All volunteers need a CORI on file.
