Global Cardboard Challenge/NPES Cardboard Carnival

It is time for the Global Cardboard Challenge! Inspired by Caine's Arcade (http://cainesarcade.com/), the Global Cardboard Challenge is a time for kids to create and have fun with cardboard! At NPES, we celebrate with a NPES Cardboard Carnival! Our 5th graders have been working hard on carnival games and we will be hosting the 2nd Annual Cardboard Carnival on Friday, September 30. You can sign up to bring your class at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UugztzmuCCnLO4yrpNmnSmkrXro-Cfg9jiOAiKVxIHk/edit

There will also be a district-wide Cardboard Challenge at the Lexington Technology Center on October 1! More details available here: http://ltc.lexington1.net/tag/cardboard-challenge/

To be in line with all other school district cancellations due to Hurricane Matthew, we have rescheduled Star Wars READS Day. It will be Thursday, May 4 at Books-A-Million in Lexington from 3:30 - 6:30pm. There will be story time, cafe specials, crafts, and more! Be on the lookout for more information closer to the date!

Read Your Way to the Big Game!

We are participating in the 2nd Annual READ YOUR WAY TO THE BIG GAME READING CONTEST! This contest is sponsored by the Educational Oversight Committee and is a fun way to get students excited about reading! Students read 6 books, write down the titles and authors on a reading log, and turn in the reading log for a chance to win tickets to the Palmetto Bowl! This contest will run from September 19 - October 19 and winners will be announced after November 1!
