We are looking for some parents to be part of our school's LPAC

  • What it is LPAC?
It is the abbreviation for Language Proficiency Assessment Committee.
  • What does the LPAC do?
LPAC makes assessment decisions on an individual student basis and in accordance with the administrative procedures established by the Texas Education Agency. LPAC recommends the placement of each student either in the monolingual, bilingual, ESL or dual programs. This is done based on the language the students speak at home and their English language skills level.
  • What would I need to do?
As an LPAC parent, you will have to attend only one meeting a month during school hours. You will be trained on what to do immediately before the first meeting. Most of what you will do is listening and assist the team placing the students in the right program for them.
  • What are the requirements?
You need to have a child enrolled either in Bilingual, Dual Language or ESL program in Lewisville Elementary. Since we will discuss individual situations of our students, you will also need to sign a confidentiality form.
