Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
I hope that this week your children came home to you in good spirits and eager to tell you stories of the friends they made, the teachers they are getting to know and the fun things they are doing in their classes here at Clifford.
On the yard, in the halls and in classrooms, I see children looking out for and taking care of each other-- they include each other in games and look to their peers for help when they need it. I want to appreciate our teachers for their dedication to building relationships between their students at every age, and helping them understand that creating bonds with your peers helps you thrive as a learner.
Our students are learning the academic routines of their classroom settings-- they are staying engaged during language arts, math, and more. Students listen attentively when their classmates share their stories, they compose essays, draw pictures, use technology, and read because they understand that these routines are in place to help them learn and grow.
Our kids are happy to be here with us and it shows. Teachers at Clifford are helping them feel like school is a safe, predictable and FUN place to be and they are making great decisions because of it. We appreciate our TEACHERS, for their steady, deliberate and intentional work to build this culture! Our teachers are committed to giving our students a top notch educational experience.
I appreciate our families for their collaborative partnerships with our teachers and other families. Parent and school partnership is vital and helps our students flourish.
I would like to send a special thanks to our Clifford Dad's Club for painting the cement blocks that protect our students in the crosswalk. I also want to thank them for weeding and making the front of our school look beautiful for all of our families return to school. Thanks, Dad's Club!
I also want to thank our PTO for the support they have given me and the staff this first week of school. I am in awe of their work to support our students and teachers here at Clifford!
PE classes will begin on September 3. Thanks to the PTO for funding our PE program!!!
Music classes begin the week of August 26th, thanks again to the PTO for funding the music program and it's extension to 24 weeks so our students get the enrichment they deserve!
I wish you all a wonderful and restful weekend! We will see you on Monday!

Queridas familias,
