Patrick Marsh Middle School Band

Dec 20-23, 2021

No Regular Lessons This Week

Mr. Gleason and Mrs. Haraldson will be traveling to the elementary schools on Monday and Tuesday to talk about band and to demonstrate the instruments. As such, we will not have regularly scheduled lessons this week. In addition, students will not be allowed to come in for recess or resource to practice since we will be out of the building. Students can come down to practice on Wednesday and Thursday. We would also encourage any students looking for extra help on their solo or band music to come down on those days as well.

Please encourage your kids to take their band instrument home over winter break!

Thank you!

7th Grade Solo Night - Tuesday, Jan 25 (4:30-7:00 pm) - student's specific time TBD

We will begin scheduling students for the 6th and 7th grade solo nights in the near future so you can get the exact performance time on your schedule. Family is encouraged to attend! Plan on attending solo night for about 35 minutes from time of arrival to departure. An example of a student's schedule that night is:

5:20 pm- Arrive

5:25 pm - Warm-up & photo taken

5:40 pm - Performance

5:45 pm - Fill out reflection

5:55 pm - Depart

School Instrument Repair & Rental Fees

If your child uses a school instrument a $50 charge has been applied to their Infinite Campus Account last week. The $50 covers the entire school year and helps to pay for maintenance and repair fees. We do our best to keep our school instruments in good playing condition. We also spend time teaching your children how to maintain and care for their instruments (regardless if they are owned by you, the school, or a music store). As you know, instruments cost many hundreds and even thousands of dollars. We appreciate your continued support!

We Need Your Help

This year Patrick Marsh Middle School is hosting the WSMA District Solo/Ensemble Festival. The festival will include over 600 performances by student musicians from all the schools in Sun Prairie. To run the festival we need volunteers to be room monitors, concession workers, and result collectors & tabulators. We are also looking for food donations for our adjudicator lunch as well as donations for the concession stand.

Please consider giving a bit of your time that Saturday (easy jobs I promise!) or donating some food. To sign-up either register for a spot on Sign-up Genius or by completing this paper form and returning it to Mr. Gleason. Thank you in advance!

How Can I Find More Information?

Here is a link to our Band Website (http://www.spbb.org/patrick-marsh-bands.html)- this is a great place to look if you ever have questions. We try to keep it updated with everything you would need.
