The Treaty of Versailles was sign to end the war. The treaty mad Germany take total responsibility for the war and imposed harsh conditions. Germany had to pay reparations and had to surrender some of it land to France. Germany also had to dismantle its army. The Big four which played a huge part in this were Britain,France, Italy and the U.S.
