What is the Fault in our Stars?
"The Fault in our Stars" is a book about a girl, Hazel Grace Lancaster, that has lung cancer. She is very antisocial and her mom forces her to go this support group to make some friends. This group is supposed to help kids with cancer relate to other kids that have it too. At this group, she meets Augustus Waters, a kid that came with his friend and has cancer in his leg. They start talking and throughout the book they end up dating and going to Amsterdam together for Augustus Water's "Make a Wish." The book takes you through the life of someone that has cancer and has lived life and made the best of the situation.
Ratings
I absolutely loved "The Fault in Our Stars." I liked the way that it incorporated issues that real teens have, whether they have cancer or not. Also, I liked how the language and style was like how a real teen would speak. Something that I did not like about the book is the fact that it was so stinking sad! That is probably the worst possible thing that I could say about the story. It is by far one of the best books that I have ever read.
Recommendations
I would recommend this book to all teens out there. Even if you do not like to read, you will still enjoy this book. After I began reading, I could not put it down! The story line is romantic and gripping, and is definitely the best book that I have read in over 3 years.
I would also recommend the author, John Green. He writes some other GREAT novels including, "Paper towns" and "Looking for Alaska." Like "The Fault in our Stars," these two books talk about real teen problems and I would rate them just as high as "The Fault in our Stars."
