NO SCHOOL MONDAY, JANUARY 17th - Due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day HOLIDAY

Message from the Principal

Hello Wildcat Families-

I hope you are all staying healthy. These have been hectic times in our school and our community but we are committed to our work. Below is some information about how we support students who are quarantined AND some of the things our leadership team has had to consider in the past two weeks.

  • Changes to "At Home Learning Plans." Up to this point we have attempted to assign case managers, provide work and offer Google Meets for kids who have been quarantined. However, with the changing COVID timelines (14 days, to 10 days, to 7 days and now 5 days of required quarantine), we are changing our process. The old one is not sustainable given the number of kids at home. So, if your student is quarantined due to a positive COVID case or close exposure, we will:
  1. Have our Health Room or Office team contact you with details and a timeline for returning;
  2. Provide a list of resources and teacher contact information*, and;
  3. Stand ready to provide consultation and answer any questions you have about returning to school.

*You can request that your teacher provide practice activities and/or an iPad if your student is REQUIRED to be at home. We will not be asking our teachers to provide work if families are choosing to stay at home or going on vacation.

  • Questions about moving to online learning. CFT has no plans to move to an online learning model. Although our attendance is hovering around 80% daily, the quarantines for students and staff are generally shorter (5 days) and we have been able to problem solve staff absences. We would consider flipping a classroom to online for a short amount of time if 1) COVID was being contracted at school or 2) we could not fill staff absences. This would be a classroom by classroom decision, not a schoolwide decision....unless the state of Oregon or TTSD were to tell us otherwise. Again, we have no plans to move to an online learning model.

I completely understand that these are confusing and difficult times for many of you. Please don't hesitate to reach out for support or to talk through anything your family needs.

Take care.

Mr. Blasquez/ Mr. B, Principal

NO HAY CLASES LUNES, 17 DE ENERO - Debido al Día FERIADO del Martin Luther King, Jr.

Mensaje del director

Hola familias Wildcat-

  1. Pida a nuestro equipo de salud u oficina que se comunique con usted con los detalles y un cronograma para regresar;
  2. Proporcionar una lista de recursos e información de contacto del maestro*, y;

Sr. Blasquez/ Sr. B, Director
