Scholastic Book Fair and Family Literacy Night
The theme for our Fall Scholastic Books Fair is "Monster Book Fair - Reading is so fun you will get GOOSEBUMPS!" Our book fair will be open during school hours from Friday October 31st through Friday November 6th.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the book fair. If you are interested, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will need volunteers for set-up on Wednesday, October 28th after school as well as volunteers to help students during the book fair.
MGA will be hosting a Monster PJ Party Literacy Night on Thursday November 5th. There will be guest readers, Make-and-Take activities for parents, a session with the Russet Library about the resources they have to offer students and refreshments. The book fair will be open that evening from 5-8 pm.
All For Books
Beginning October 19th, we will be asking students to bring in their pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters to FILL THEIR MONSTER! Each grade level will have a monster change bottle to collect their coins.
We are raising money to purchase books for the Maryland Book Bank. The Maryland Book Bank distributes over 100,000 free books to children, teachers, schools and organizations each year. Please visit www.marylandbookbank.org to learn more about this great organization.
Each class in the winning grade level will have a celebration party during their media class. So check under your couch cushions and on the floorboard of your car to find all that spare change for a great cause!
Leave a Book - Take a Book
If you have any new or gently used books you would like to donate to the Leave a Book - Take a Book Program, please send them in with your student or you can drop them in the basket in the front office.
