How to use the Metric system
Adam Morris
What does SI Stand for?
Si stands for international system of units. It is used all around the world.
The metric unit stair step
The stair step is (from bottom to top) milli, centi, deci, base unit, deka, hector, and kilo. It is used to convert different measurements.
Metirc units
A system of measurements known as the modern form of the metric system. The units are the meter, liter, gram, second, ampere, and kelvin. The abbreviations for these units are m, l, g, s, amp, and k.
Simpsons and the metric system
Abraham sure doesn't like the metric system.
How to use the stair step smaller to larger
To use the stair step to go from something smaller to larger you make there be a smaller number. So say you want to take 4,000 milliliters and convert them into liters. You have to take the decimal at 4,000 and move it three spaces to the left to get 4.
How to use the stair step larger to smaller
To use the stair step to go from something larger to smaller you make there be a larger number. So say you want to take 4 kilometers and convert them into meters. You have to take the decimal at 4 and move it three spaces to the left to get 4,000.
Things you can convert
Kilo- hecto, hecto- deka, deka- base unit, base unit- deci, deci- centi, centi- milli, and milli- kilo.
Acronym for Metric unit stair step
My acronym to remember the metric unit stair step is My cow dumped brad during Hillary's kill.
How old is the metric system?
The metric system dates all the way back to the early 1600s to the late 1600s. In the year 1668 John Wilkins published a book with a plan for a universal measuring system.
