Our Boone PTA has earned a district wide award. Boone is one of four finalists for PTA of the year. It is such an honor to make it to the final round from 132 schools in AISD. The winner will be announced at the CELEBRATE awards on April 28th. We do have the BEST PTA in AISD! The carnival tonight will show you in one way, how great they are!
Our PK3 and PK4 registration has been phenomenal. I am so excited about next year for our new 3 and 4 year-olds. Kinder registration also started on Tuesday. If you know of any kinder, four year-olds or three year-olds, send them our way.
Online registration has started for the 16-17 school year. Please take some time to register online and check that off your list of activities to do. It will help us plan effectively for staffing and kids. If you have any questions about registration, please call Marisa Garza at 512-414-5313.
Safety at Dismissal
We have multiple reports of students and parents crossing in the middle of the street in front of the school. Please use the crosswalks and encourage students to use the crosswalks. We want everyone to make it home safely at the end of the day.

No Place for Hate is completing their final activity for the school year. Over the next two weeks in PK-5th grades’ guidance lessons, students are going to focus on what names are and why they are important to us. We will also discuss the differences between names that feel good to hear, and names that feel bad to hear (put-up vs. put-downs). This is an opportunity for to students to define for themselves what they like and don’t like to be called. Below are some questions that students will have an opportunity to discuss next week on Wednesday, April 13.
Who gave you your name?
Do you know why it was chosen to be your name?
What do you especially like about your name?
Do you have any nicknames that you like to be called?
In preparation for No Name Calling Day on Wednesday, April 13, please talk to your child about where your child’s name comes from, and why it was chosen.
We are encouraging students to wear blue on Wednesday, April 13 to show their support for No Name Calling Day at Boone.
