DISTRICT & ALL-STATE BAND
"I am very proud of all of our students who prepared for and followed through with auditions for District & All State Honor Bands. The process is rigorous and hugely worth it because regardless of making one of the limited spots (in the toughest district in the state), students become much better musicians just by going for it. A student can be a fantastic player, just as capable as someone who makes it, but not get a spot because it comes down to what the judges hear in the moment of the audition." ~Mr. Jacob Souder
Congratulations to the following students:
Keanan Cartee - District HB & All State Blue Band
Andrew Lewis - District HB
Bailey Terkeurst - District HB & All State White Band
Gabrielle Williams - District HB & All State*
Elijah Winslett - District HB & All State Blue Band
*unassigned = will audition not just for chair but for band placement at All State

MRS. ANNA HILL, VISUAL ART 1
Some students are starting to finish their non-objective
art projects and they are turning out beautifully!
Visual Art 1 completed their first critiques of the semester! Student groups rotated around the room and wrote one “glow” and one “grow” about their peer’s nonobjective artwork. By the end of critique each student had a list of Glows or compliments & a list of Grows or constructive criticism about their artwork!!

MCSS Safe Schools Tip Line is an anonymous reporting hotline designed for students and parents to safely and quickly report any type of potential safety concern towards an individual or school. The goal of this tip line is to provide an extra measure of safety for students and parents as they report incidents involving students on or off campus.
By dialing or texting 256.536.8355, someone could possibly save the life of another. You may also email your concerns to 256TELL@madisoncountyal.gov.
This reporting hotline is monitored 24/7 by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. All reports are forwarded to the School Resource Officer(s) who is assigned to the respective school. The school administration may be contacted as well.

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
https://www.hsvutil.org/community_resources/programs/sign_up_to_round_up.php
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
