A Note from the Principal
I am very proud to announce to everyone that one of our eighth grade students, Mikey Dea, has taken third place in the St. Thomas More Society's Essay Contest, which involved eighth grade students from our Archdiocese and the Diocese of Oakland. Their writing prompt/topic was so applicable to what people face today - "What enabled St. Thomas More to stand alone with such conviction? What did he accomplish by resisting the power of the state and the persuasion of loved ones as well as the peer pressure of a mob? Could More have achieved the same goals through compromise? Finally, what lessons can we take today from the examples of More’s stands?" We could all learn a little something from reading up on St.Thomas More's life. We are proud of Mikey and all the other students who spent time analyzing and writing about how standing strong in your Christian convictions can not only change your life, but more importantly, it can change the world! Congratulations, Mikey.
