NEWSLETTER | TERM 2| WEEK 2 | 6 MAY 2022
Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parent and caregivers,
Monday morning was a big highlight for me as we finally began to move towards 'schooling with Covid-19'. Never underestimate the power of a friendly smile!
Please make sure that you have read the information that was sent out in relation to the School Operating Guidelines - Baseline Settings. You will find the link below for your reference. Just a reminder that while masks are no longer mandates, if you cannot safely social distance from one another at any time on the school grounds you are required to wear a mask.
This week I spent two Professional Learning Days at CEWA with a focus on Accreditation for Leadership. While I dearly missed being at school, it was nice to stop and reflect on my faith journey and what it may look like in the future. I’ve walked away with some clear focus areas in mind so … watch this space.
In the Catholic Church the month of May is Mary’s month. It’s the month we honour Blessed Mary as the Mother of Jesus and our Heavenly Mother. There are a number of rituals that we do throughout May to show love for Mary. One of these rituals is praying the Rosary, a combination of prayers, during which we can reflect on the important events in the life of Jesus and Mary. Throughout the month of May, I encourage you to take some time to pray the Rosary with your children and reflect on how fortunate we are to live where we do, particularly reflecting on the ongoing turmoil in Ukraine and as we continue to navigate our way through Covid-19.
May is also the month that we celebrate Mother’s Day. Thank you to our dedicated P&F for the Mother’s Day Morning Tea this morning and to our fabulous Year 4 class for their entertaining Assembly. I am looking forward to hearing the wonderful ways that we recognised our mums, grandmothers and those that take on the motherly role in our lives. I do hope everyone has a lovely day and gets thoroughly spoilt by their families!
Finally, I ask that you keep the Panaia Family in your thoughts and prayers on the sudden loss of David, husband to Monica and father to Elizabella.
Wishing everyone a glorious weekend!
Congratulations to our Merit and Christianity Award Recipients this week - term 2 week 2

here on earth and in heaven with you.
Help them to know how much they are loved and appreciated
on this Mother's Day and every day.
This coming Sunday is a very special day for our mums. It is a day that gives us the opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for our mums. Our mums are so important to us and continue to give of their love unconditionally. Sunday will allow us to stop and spoil them and to think of them. I would like to wish all of our special mums and grandmothers a day full of happiness and love with their family. I hope you all enjoy being spoiled by those that love you.
A reminder to parents of Year 3 and 5 students that NAPLAN assessments take place next week from Tuesday, 10 May to Friday, 20 May which is weeks 3 and 4 of Term 2. Assessments are online covering Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy.

Seeking Parent Class Rep Volunteers
As we grow together and build community, we are seeking to expand our Parent Class Rep network. This may be one or two parents per class who volunteer to be a Class Rep, with a focus on welcoming new families, arranging opportunities to families to connect and helping to keep parents informed. If you are interested, please let us know by emailing the Emma on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would love to have you on board as we work to build our community in 2022
