2020 AP Exam Administration
For the 2019-20 exam administration only, CollegeBoard is developing secure 45-minute online free-response exams for each AP course. There will not be written AP exams. The exam content will focus on what most schools were able to complete by early March. Colleges support this solution and are committed to ensuring that AP students receive the credit they have worked to earn.
Exams can be taken on any device a student has access to—computer, tablet, or smartphone. There will also be the option to write responses by hand and submit a photo. The exams will be secure, and the College Board will be using a variety of digital security tools, including plagiarism detection software.
AP Exam Requirement for 2019-2020 school year
For the 2019-2020 school year, participation in AP Exams is optional for students enrolled in AP courses.
Rationale:
- Some students are demonstrating high levels of achievement in virtual learning.
- Some students are struggling with or are not participating in virtual learning.
- The College Board has modified AP exams.
For students choosing to not take their AP Exam(s), no action needs to be taken at this time. The students just do not sign in to take the exam on the testing day. Collegeboard will communicate to the schools to confirm which students took the test; schools will use this information to issue refunds.
*Reminder AP Exams do not impact final class grades.
AP Exam Payments
For students who plan on taking AP Exams and have not paid, payments can be mailed to the school. Please send only checks or money orders; no cash. Address the envelope to the attention of Natalie Jones. School mail is being checked daily. Payments are due by May 1st.

Refund Policy
