BizTown
BizTown Information
Our 5th graders will be attending BizTown on Friday, May 6th. We will be needing volunteers to help with this very fun, very exciting day! The first group of volunteers needed will be for the BizTown interview process. The interviews will take place on April 8th, at Sampson. We will need about 40 – 50 parent volunteers to help conduct interviews of our 5th graders for their perspective jobs. The interviews will take place during their large group time, but we would ask that volunteers be here by 8:45. Please see the link below if you are interested in signing up to conduct interviews.

The second group of volunteers will be needed to actually be with us at BizTown on May 6th, from 9:00 to 1:30, at the Junior Achievement facility on Dacoma St. Volunteers will need to attend a training session to volunteer. We will need, at a minimum, 32 volunteers and up to a maximum of 56 volunteers. You may volunteer in your child’s city but not your child’s shop. We need you there to help facilitate the day. However, you will see your child in action around the city. Training to work at BizTown will take place at Sampson. Stay tuned for a training date to be announced in the near future.

SRC
5th grade parents…looking for one final way to get involved in your child’s class?!? The very last training opportunity for SRC is coming up March 29 and the topic is CSI. Here’s what that will look like:
The students are solving a “crime” to see if they can figure out which teacher took one of the SRC animals. They analyze fiber samples with a microscope, test two different markers, and analyze fingerprints to see if they can determine who has the animal.
Please contact Emily Johnson at mrsejohnson@gmail.com if you are interested and would like more information. Thank you!
