Conference Schedule Next Week
Parents,
Remember that we are on a special schedule to accommodate conferences next week. Students attend two full days of school on Monday and Tuesday and then our conferences begin. We see that most of you have signed up for your child’s conference. If you have not done this yet, be sure to log in to Familylink and reserve your time before 6:00 tonight. Sign-ups close at 6:00 tonight so that school staff can see the full conference schedule for next week. In lots of cases, other school team members will join conferences in order to get know your student and family better, share additional supports or celebrate successes with you. We look forward to this important time together next week. Be sure and check for notes from your child’s teacher indicating whether or not your child should attend their conference with you.
If you are unable to attend your child’s conference next week, Trillium will offer open-house style make-up conferences on Monday, October 14th between 2:30 and 3:00. Teachers will be in their classrooms with children’s conference materials ready.

Safety Spotlight — Animals in District Facilities
In July, the School Board adopted a new policy regarding animals in district facilities to ensure alignment across the school district. The policy creates a process for building administrators to approve and monitor long-term classroom pets and ensure the safety of students, staff, and animals on a daily basis.
Animals are a pivotal part of the educational experience in West Linn-Wilsonville schools and will continue to provide educational value to students as they always have. The policy ensures classroom pets serve an educational purpose, are well cared for, and are properly housed to protect district facilities.

The West Linn-Wilsonville School Board has placed two measures on the upcoming November Election ballot. Those measures include a $206.8 million capital bond to fund several construction projects as well as a local option levy renewal that funds approximately 80 teachers across the district.
