Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
December 2, 2022
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Break and were able to soak up some family time. A highlight of our week was the 5th graders overcoming the rain to have a fantastic field trip to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Looking forward, we have many great events and initiatives this December!
Mrs. Kiewe's Mitten Tree is up in the lobby and we are taking donations of new hats, scarves, and gloves to donate to those in need. See the attached letter for more details.
We are seeking magazine donations -- particularly magazines for children such as Sports Illustrated for Kids, Time for Kids, The Week Junior, Highlights, etc. If you have an old issues of these magazines you no longer need. Please send them in to school and have your child bring them to the office.
We have a couple great events coming up in a few weeks. On Monday December 12th we have Skate Night at Putty Hill Skateland from 6:00-9:00pm. The cost is $4.00 per person and parents are welcome to skate! We hope to see you there. We are also looking forward to the 5th Grade Winter Concert on Tuesday December 13th at 7:00 and in school performances on Monday and Tuesday.
Fall Pictures have finally been shipped to Lutherville Lab and are expected to be delivered Monday and based on the time of their arrival we will distribute on Monday or Tuesday. Make-up pictures and retakes and make-ups are December 7th.
In Partnership,
-Mr. McComb

BCPS Virtual Instruction Days During Inclement Weather
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is providing local school systems with the option to repurpose inclement weather days as virtual school days. The BCPS draft plan was presented to the Board of Education on October 11 and then submitted to MSDE for approval. MSDE approved BCPS' plan on November 10.
These virtual instruction days will count towards the minimum required days of instruction under Maryland law. The Virtual Inclement Weather Day Plan applies to the 2022-2023 school year only.
