Winning Week!
There was a lot to celebrate at The Ridge This week. Please join us in congratulating our students and staff for their special recognitions! The effort, dedication and character displayed each day by these honorees epitomizes #BeTheWhy.
Items for your attention:
Black History Month: Each day of February, we will honor prominent African Americans from our state during morning announcements and a video presentation at the start of 1st block.
Special Olympics Polar Plunge: We raised over $7,800 for Special Olympics! Thank you for your support! The CR Chill Squad took the plunge this weekend (see coverage below).
Accolades and Recognitions: It's been a BIG week at The Ridge. Recent awards/recognitions are highlighted in this newsletter. Please join me congratulating these outstanding students and staff members!
Jostens will be on campus to meet with Sophomores about class rings on Monday, 2/7. Class rings can be designed and ordered online or in person with Jostens on February 17 during lunches.
National School Counselors Week. We celebrate our Guidance Counselors this week and the tremendous impact they have in helping students achieve school success and plan for their future. We appreciate our School Counselors!
Virtual AP/Dual Credit Night is February 15th at 5:30 PM. See info below.
As we approach Valentine's Day, this is a reminder that deliveries to staff and students are not allowed!

Arts/Athletics/JROTC Updates:
- Band: Several musicians earned All-Region honors and two of our students earned a spot at All-State (see info below). The Winter Guard earned 1st place at their weekend competition
- Wrestling: Our wrestlers dominated in their state playoff Dual Meet at home this weekend! Catawba Ridge will host Lugoff- Elgin tomorrow at 7 PM. Come out and support the team!
- Basketball: Last home game of the regular season is this Tuesday! Come out and cheer on our Copperhead teams!
- JROTC: The Corps of Cadets took 1st Place overall and won several additional awards at the White Knoll Competition this weekend.
- Theater: Puffs is coming to The Ridge later this month. See below for dates and ticket purchase info.

Graduation Information
Senior graduation deliveries are March 14th during lunches. Seniors MUST purchase a cap and gown kit from Jostens to participate in the graduation ceremony.
AP/Dual Credit Night Information
AP/Dual Credit Night February 15 @ 5:30 Virtual Meeting Want to learn more about course offerings in Advanced Placement and Dual Credit classes for college credit? Video links will be emailed prior to Feb. 15 so that students and parents can view info on these course offerings. After viewing the info, please plan on attending the Virtual AP/ DC Night to join the Google Meet sessions, meet the teachers, and ask questions about the course. These presentations will help you make informed decisions on which AP and/or DC courses may be right for you.

All State Band
Special Olympics Fundraiser Update
The results are in from our fundraising Blitz and we raised almost $1,100 for Special Olympics! WTG, Copperhead Family! 2nd Block Class Winner: Major Studley!!! They collected $629 from their class and their fundraising page. Club Unified was the Team Winner with $2,566 raised as of this writing.
Our grand total: almost $7,500, well over our goal of $4K. 50% of all funds raised go directly back to CRHS Special Olympics. OUTSTANDING! We will announce when Mr. Wilson will take the ice-water bucket challenge soon!
