Media Bites: E-books!
Tumblebooks, the Interactive books that work!
Resources for the New Year!
We have renewed our Tumblebook Library and Tumble Cloud Jr. Subscriptions. I have added both to our OPAC page. You are also allowed to copy and paste the site to your web page. However, do not list the Username "" and Password "" on your web page. I am teaching this information to our students. I gave out flyers during the PTO meeting last week with the Username and Password. Most vendors do not mind teachers posting sites to their page, but do not want the passwords posted since anyone can access the site. Tumblebooks have added a Common Core Page for both the Library and Cloud Jr. Sites. The Common Core Page lists the Language Arts and Math standards with a list of on site books, and lesson plans. I think the lesson plans for Math are a little week but that is sure to improve over time.
Follett Shelf and Capstone ebooks
Did you know Follett Shelf is listed on the Destiny Homepage, and most of the ebooks can be searched within the catalog. If you would like to search within the catalog, simply type "ebook" in the Find Field. Highland has 322 ebooks. Most of the purchased from Follett or Capstone. To access the Capstone books, click on the title and then the book link under Explore. If you are asked for a password, type in "", then "". I use the same passwords for all ebook vendors.
