Basketball Season Preview - Coach Chat

For the upcoming season, Coach Littleton shares his thoughts on the team's success for this year.

Coach Littleton is looking forward to a successful year. “We have great senior lineup this year. I love these guys, love their attitude, love their work ethic, love their serving hearts. We’ll know these guys will play well," he said.

The most important games of the season are within our own district. District games are always games that the team needs more focus. However, getting started and establishing a team rhythm during preseason can be a little more hectic.

Coach Littleton said, "Our biggest competition is mostly with ourselves. We try not to look what other people are doing, or where they're located, or if it’s a rivalry or not, we know we do what we’re supposed to do and to do it well."

The Jaguars have many strengths. Coach Littleton mentioned a few, "We are not selfish, we are a hard working team, and what comes with that is great sportsmanship, and those two things are what makes a great team."

“What do you do to improve your team’s confidence.”

Coach Littleton works on improving team confidence at every practice and game. He is honest with his players, doesn't scream, but tells the players the truth in what he sees.

Coach Littleton has a saying, "Competence, being good at something, builds confidence. We work really hard to build competence. We don't tell you you're good at something if you're not. We don’t compliment you if you are not."

The Jaguar basketball team has worked hard in the offseason to get ready for the 2016-17 season. They have built up their confidence and hope that it translates into many WINS for the season. Be sure to pack the stands in the arena and show your support for our Jags.
