RHS Counseling Connection
2020 - 2021: October
In light of recent events in Portland and across the country, including grieving the losses of so many Black men and Black women to police brutality, the Roosevelt School Counseling team wants to acknowledge that we stand in solidarity with our Black students and families. We are here to listen and to support each of you. We commit to combating systemic racism within our school and community and we understand that simply making a statement is not enough. Our role and responsibility is to advocate for policies, practices and beliefs that combat systemic injustice. We are working within our department and our school to listen and grow. Young people are a critical part of this movement; please know that we support you and we care about you.
