Speech & Debate Tournament
Olympic Qualifier Event, January 12-14, 2017
Dear Prospective Judge -
This three-day event will be held in Olympia, WA. We invite you to help make this event possible as a community judge. No experience in debate or judging is needed. We would be honored to have you participate as a judge in this event.
What is the NCFCA?
The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) is the third largest high school speech and debate league in the nation, comprised of home-educated middle and high school students from 44 states. For more information, please visit: www.ncfca.org.
The Basics:
WHERE: Westwood Baptist Church, 333 Kaiser Rd NW, Olympia, WA 98502
TIME: You can choose times that work best for your schedule.
FOOD! : We have a team that will be providing light snacks and beverages for our judges throughout each day.
TRAINING: We will provide an essential, but relatively brief, non-technical, orientation for you on the day you choose to judge at the tournament.
More Tournament Details:
This event will include 11 speech events and 2 types of debate. On the judge registration website, you will be able to mark the time slot you are available to judge and whether you would like to judge speech or debate. Of course, we would love to have you judge more than one event, but are very happy if you can come to judge even one event.
We think you will enjoy watching these student presentations. You should expect that judging one round, including an orientation and time to complete your ballot will take 2 ½ – 3 hours. The judge registration page will instruct you about the arrival time for the round you choose to judge.
