Sock Drive!

South Creek is starting a Sock Drive for the homeless. HVAF (Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation) is a non-profit organization that provides housing and basic needs to the homeless veterans in Indianapolis. We are starting to collect new, adult socks (for both men and women). An item so basic to our daily lives is an item in great need for the homeless. Since we will be partnering with HVAF, the timing is perfect as approach our Veterans Day celebration next Wednesday. Please send in any sock donations at any time.

Gator of the Month!

Congratulations to our Gator of the Month for October... Brianna!

Recess

Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather each day (coat, hat, gloves). Please make sure your child can put on and zip their own coat. You are also welcome to send in a chapstick that your child can keep in their art box or backpack to use as needed.

Scholastic Book Orders

Scholastic book orders were due today, but you can still order! I will not place the order until Saturday morning. Click below to order online. Class code - GKYNP

Canned Food and Toy Drive

South Creek is having a food and toy drive next week (November 16-20) to benefit the Franklin Township Civic League. Please consider donating any canned and or boxed goods or new toys for Franklin Township families in need. We will line the hallway with our food. The class that brings in the most items will get to have lunch with Mrs. Stevenson, a trophy, and a reward. The second and third place classrooms will get to pick a reward from our SC rewards poster. Thanks for your generosity!

Book Bingo

Friday, Nov. 20th, 7-9pm

9010 East Southport Road

Indianapolis, IN

Our Book Bingo Coordinator, Sarah Smith, is planning a fun, family event for our school. We are excited to announce this one will benefit patients at Riley Children's hospital! Instead of charging families admission to the event, we are asking for items to be donated to the Riley Cheer Guild to distribute to a pediatric patient. The items should be new, but don't have to be expensive! Something as small as a fast-food toy would even be welcome. The Cheer Guild just asks for them NOT to have button batteries.

In addition, we still have a need for books, which will be handed out as prizes to the participants at Book Bingo. If you have new or very gently-used books, please send them to school with your student, in a bag marked, "PTO". Your book donations are greatly appreciated! Our greatest need is for children's books for K-5th graders.

Finally, we still need volunteers to help make this event a huge success. Please visit the signup link below to see how you can help.

We hope to see your family at South Creek's first-ever Book Bingo!

Donors Choose!

My project was just funded today! YAY! I just submitted another project to get another iPad Mini for our classroom. Look for this project to be posted soon!
