The Skipper Scoop

Week of May 13th

SKIPPER NATION

FHS had a busy week! The Skipper Scoop is full of pictures and stories from a very busy first week in May. There are so many events happening in the next few weeks. Make sure to check the calendar on the website for all the details.

I hope Mother’s Day treated you right and you were fortunate enough to spend it with loved ones. My oldest asked me yesterday “when is it going to be kids day?” Of course I gave the answer everyone gives...” every day is kids day!”

Enjoy the week.

NYC🍎

The middle school trip to NYC was a whirlwind of the sights and sounds of the Big Apple. Some of the stops were Ellis Island, the 9/11 Memorial, Times Square, and the United Nations. Thank you to our chaperones from Harding and McKinley who helped make great memories for our kiddos.

Cool School

Fox 8 was here last Wednesday and spent two hours with our students and staff. They spend a l lot of time in area schools and they were IN LOVE with our school! I noticed all the people interviewed talked about FHS being like a family and I couldn't agree more. Thanks again for your votes!

PROM

Prom 2019 was a magical and exciting night for Harding high schoolers. Our kids showed grace and class and received compliments from the Holiday Inn staff regarding their behavior and poise. Everyone looked dynamite and several of the suits were a sight to see.

Congratulations to Tori Nahorniak and Ray Alston for being chosen Prom Queen and Prom King. Gabby Palmer and Sammy Schuster were also named Prom Princess and Prince.

Spring Sports

Despite the fact that it has rained 4 out of 18 days recently, somehow spring sports finds a way to sneak in a game or meet. Thanks to our dedicated coaches and athletic staff for coaching in the rain! Mrs Knight and Mrs Kazsmer deserve a gold star for their coordination of game scheduling and transporatation.

Art News!

There is more exciting news coning from Mrs. Toomey's Art room. On Friday, Flipside Virtual Reality interactive wellness specialists came to share their business practices with our students. Flipside brings VR experiences to clients to improve their overall heath and wellness. They looked at different works of art- including Starry Night.
