Get to Know Me
My name is Polly Schinstock. I have been a teacher for 5 years and 4 of those at Grijalva! I moved here from Kansas four years ago. I am 27 years old. I have a German Shepherd Chow dog named Trigger. My hobbies are hiking, being outdoors, and having fun with family and friends. I grew up in a big family and I have four siblings that are very important to me. I also work at a CrossFit gym and am training to become a coach! I have a passion for exercise and health but I have a lot to learn! Teaching is and always has been my first passion and I am excited to have the opportunity to be a teacher again this year!
Volunteering
I am hoping for more parent involvement this year! We plan to go on several field trips and we always want to welcome parents to come in and help in the classroom. If you are interested in working with our class use the link below to fill out TUSD's volunteer form. My Mom often volunteers in my classroom as well. She helps students with work and helps me integrate art into lessons because it is not my strong suit. If you have a talent you'd like to share with our class you are always welcome!

These are the things and people I love!
We are learning too
Part of being a teacher is becoming a better learner. I always want to challenge myself to learn and innovate. This summer I participated in a book study about innovation with other teachers at Grijalva. I am currently reading books about the constitution and ADHD and the brain. I am actively learning how to be a CrossFit coach and how to make exercise sustainable for a lifetime! I would love to hear what you and your child are learning outside of school so please share with me!
