KAES Selected as Texas Conference of SDA School of the Month

It was exciting to find out that KAES was selected as the Texas Conferences of Seventh-day Adventist school of the month for February. With this designation we received a photo shoot with a professional photographer and one of our photos will be a permanent display on the walls in the Education department at the Conference Office.

Spring pictures will be this coming Tuesday, Feb. 18 in the morning. With spring pictures you may dress your child as you would like. They do not need to be in uniform. These pictures are for your memories.

Dismissal Changes

For the rest of the year our west parking lot will be closed due to construction of our new gymnasium. As many of you have already experienced this has increased the pickup congestion at the end of the day. In hopes to improve the congestion, starting Tuesday we are going to dismiss students in the elementary building at 2:55pm and students in the middle school building at 3:05pm. If you have children in both buildings we ask that you pick up at 3:05pm, the designated dismissal time for the middle school. The same pattern of dismissal will be observed on Fridays with the time being 1:55pm for our elementary building and 2:05pm for our middle school building. Thank you for adjusting your schedule accordingly to help alleviate traffic for the remainder of the school year.

Brain Games

Today our middle school celebrated the last day of I Love KAES Week with the 3rd school spirit event of the year. Each class competed against each other over the material that they have studied this year. These kids are smart! Congratulations to the 7th grade for winning the coveted School Spirit Trophy. Only time will tell if they are able to hold on to the trophy throughout the fourth quarter and final challenge.

$250,000 Matching Gift

Rain has slowed us down a bit but foundation stabilization process has begun. If you have been by the school this week you will have noticed a whole bunch of trees have disappeared. Our land extends over forty feet beyond what looked like our property line. The trees were growing where we plan to have parking alongside the new gymnasium. Everyday more progress is happening in the construction for our new gymnasium. It is so exciting. Please continue to support this project. We still have a lot of matching dollars available.

Help Wanted

KAES is looking for an additional person to help with After School Care. We are seeking someone who can work at least three days a week after school (starting at 3:15pm) until approximately 6pm. The ideal person will be punctual and enjoy working with kids of all ages. If you are interested or know of someone who would be interested, please contact Mr. Coulter through the school office at 917-645-9125.

8th Grade Yearbook Information Due

Today is the deadline for the following yearbook entries:


1. No yearbook would be complete without a baby picture of each of our eighth graders. Please submit a picture by February 14.


2.(OPTIONAL) There is an opportunity to place a 1/4 page congratulations to your child. Submit a message two ways: a)Create your own message/artwork within a 5x7 area, or b)Submit text with photo(s) and leave the design to the yearbook staff. You can email entries to yearbook@kaes-sda.org


All entries need to be turned in to Mr. Weaver by the end of school on Friday, February 14. If choosing option two please submit checks at same time and make checks payable to KAES and note "Yearbook Fund".
