Rock the Vote!
we will vote
According to www.statisicbrain.com only 57.5% of Americans voted during the last presidential election in 2012.
Most people for silly reasons such as bad weather or not caring.
But it is important that you do care because it affects the well being of YOUR country.
Reasons to vote
America is a democracy
True, it may be a representative democracy, but your elected representatives still need to know how their constituents think in order to accurately represent them. They are counting on your vote as part of that process.
No one else votes with your issues in mind
Many people vote while thinking of other what is true to them. But very few voters are focused specifically on the needs of say a college students. When issues like student loan rates, educational standards, and admissions policies are on the ballot, who else is better qualified to vote than those currently experiencing those issues.
Many People fought for your right to vote
No matter your race, gender, or age, your right to vote came at a price. Honor the sacrifices others made so that your voice could be heard when theirs wasn't.
After all that we have been through as a country to make sure everyone can vote, no one should think that their vote does not matter
Women Voting
If you are a woman and you don't plan on voting because you don't think your opinion matters, here is some news for you;
Every. Vote. Matters.
If everyone had the attitude that 'It doesn't matter if I vote, one less vote won't hurt'
then no one would be voting, and rich white men will be back in charge and we will be back right where we started. After all those women who fought for your right to vote, You can't just act like it doesn't matter.
Do you really want some old white conservative male telling you what you can and can not do with YOUR body? Because that sounds pretty ridiculous to me.
