Intelligent Lives Film Screening
I'd like to bring this film screening and panel discussion to your attention. The film highlights three young adults with intellectual disabilities who challenge perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. Academy Award-winning actor and narrator Chris Cooper contextualizes the lives of these central characters through the emotional personal story of his son Jesse, as the film unpacks the shameful and ongoing track record of intelligence testing in the U.S. There are two opportunities to engage in the film or discussion:

Greetings! ILT is working on updating the SIP and could use your assistance in gathering information relating to caseloads. Case managers, please complete the survey that is connected to your Team.
This week ILT discussed updated SIP data and planning for next school year. We also looked at the Family Involvement Plan for next school and how to incorporate celebrating our students and families on CBI afternoons. The ILT team has begun to look at the schedule for next school year. If you have ideas or thoughts either respond to the various surveys or speak with an ILT member.
The Career Expo: Autism at Work event, being hosted by Minneapolis College’s Accessibility Resource Center (ARC), Career Services, TRIO Student Support Services and TRIO Educational Opportunity Center, is an event to celebrate individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) that are successfully living, going to school, and working within our communities.

Transition Plus is hosting a huge resource fair on April 25th for students and their families to get connected with EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, and INDEPENDENT LIVING RESOURCES in our community. This fair would be beneficial to our transition age students and their families, high school students with disabilities, and Adult Education students.
The fair is free to attend
A light dinner will be served.
