What is a Junior Ranger?
The Junior Ranger program gives children the opportunity to explore and learn about their National Parks. They will learn through fun activities why it is important to take care of and protect their park. At the end of their exploration of the park they are sworn in as Junior Rangers and receive a special certificate and official Junior Ranger badge!
Beach Buddies Junior Ranger Program
Here at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area we are offering a brand new Junior Ranger program called Beach Buddies which focuses on helping to keep the beaches fun and safe through fun and exciting activities.
Each child will receive a activity book where they follow a fun beach friend of ours as the booklets guide. There are three different age levels to pick from, 6-7, 8-9, and 10 and up. Once the child has completed the booklets activities, they will be sworn in as an official Junior Ranger and receive their badge!
We need your help in keeping our beaches beautiful! Knowing more about beaches and the ocean in your National Parks is a big step in learning about life along the coast.
