The Region 1&2 ECSE Snippets purpose is to provide monthly communication with practitioners regarding regional happenings, upcoming trainings and resources. It is each practitioners responsibility to check with their district/supervisor regarding use of the resources and participation in professional development opportunities.

Connecting to What We Know
Registration for the virtual option of this conference is open through Sunday, 11/6.
The 5th Annual Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Conference, “Connecting to What We Know” – happening November 6 – 8, 2022 at Bunker Hills Event Center in Coon Rapids, MN.
The virtual option will include Monday’s live-streamed morning keynote, along with virtual small groups and a Q & A with Dr. Stroud, Tuesday’s live-streamed morning keynote, and a recorded version of Tuesday afternoons keynote that will be available after the live conference. This registration option will include a total of 5.5 CEs for $100.

MDE Open Office Hours
Understanding Prekindergarten Suspension and Expulsion: The Legislation, Strategies to Prevent It, and Support for the Workforce. New legislation prohibits suspension and expulsion for children enrolled in prekindergarten or preschool programs. This webinar will briefly review the legislation and then focus on current cross-agency work including strategies and resources that can help prevent exclusionary practices as well as mental health supports for early learning professionals.

Monday, November 14, 12:30-3:30 pm
We will view the 3 MDE webinars together from 12:30-2:30, and then have a live Q&A with MDE representatives from 2:30-3:30. Participants are also welcome to view them independently if desired and just join the Q&A at 2:30.

COMING UP...
MDE Open Office Hours Screen Time – How much, When, and What If
Screens can provide students with developmentally appropriate opportunities to interact with lesson material and explore content. During this session, we will review new legislation on individual use screens in public pre-K and kindergarten classrooms, review guidance on its implementation, discuss implications and strategies to prevent over reliance on screens, and provide time for discussion on this important topic.
