Lerna Horne was a role model to all women.
In paragraph two and three it states,"At 16, she was in need of a job. She had to support her sick mother. Horne joined the performers at the Cotton Club. It was a famous nightspot in the Harlem part of New York City.Horne left the Cotton Club in 1935. Next, she became the first black performer to sing with an all-white band.
