Readers Unite
Books I recommend.
Readers Unite - The 5th Wave by R. Yancey
The Fifth Wave is one of those dystopian novels with a strong female lead. She is an anti-hero who takes on the role of first finding out just what is going on, and then, she unites with one of the "enemy" to disrupt the plans of the group trying to take over the world.
Thumbs up!
The pace of this novel starts out slow, but it revs up quickly. It is told in various points of view. Part of what I really liked about this book is that it builds the suspense...you are turning the pages trying to get to exactly what is going on. The climax scene is action-packed and creates a sense of urgency. I recommend this book and look forward to the sequel, The Infinite Sea.
Other books I've read...
Mrs. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Another really interesting book. More to come.
The Fault in Our Stars
A popular movie as well.
The Impossible Knife of Memory
A sad yet life-affirming book.
