Holy Rosary School Derby
NEWSLETTER / TERM 2/ WEEK 2/ 3rd May 2023

Message from Miss Melanie
We have lots of fantastic activities planned for this term so make sure you keep checking our your child's SeeSaw page along with our facebook page to find out the details so you can join us where possible.
Thank you to Miss Bec, Miss Kylie and the Year 5/6 class for organising and facilitating the Anzac day memorial assembly on Thursday 27th April. I was told that it was very well done and that all of our students were very respectful of the situation.
We have our Cross Country Faction carnival soon - Thursday May 11. Details have been sent out in a letter from Mr Clinton. All families are encouraged to support their children at the carnival on the day. The inter-school team will be selected from this carnival and families will be provided with further details closer to the carnival which will be held in Broome on Friday 26th May.
Our first assembly for the term will be held on Friday 12th May and the Yr3/4Y class will be presenting their item.
Our Year 6 students will be heading to One Arm Point from Monday 22nd May to Friday 26th May for the Kimberley Round Up Camp. Miss Kylie and myself will be attending the camp with the students and we look forward to having some fun with other schools from across the West Kimberley. A parent information session is to be held on Monday 8th May at 5.00pm in the Staffroom.
I would like to welcome Miss Marina to Holy Rosary in Year 3/4B, she has a wide range of experience and is looking forward to working with all the students in her class along with getting to know our fantastic community. Also a big welcome back to Miss Jocelyn after a term of long service leave.
Wishing our students, staff and families a great Term 2.
God Bless.
Miss Mel

Sacraments - for any families who have children who are baptised Catholic and would like to participate in the Sacramental programs, please can you contact the office and let Miss Jenna know. There will be a Commitment Mass for all Sacramental Candidates on Sunday 21st May (Term 2) so we encourage any families to let us know as soon as possible so that we are able to start organising these special events.
If you would like your child to be baptised and participate in the Sacramental program and you are not Catholic, please give your name to Miss Jenna so that we can organise a time to meet with Monsignor Paul.
