Mrs. Bulloch's Phys Science Class
Gardner Newman Middle School
Last Week's Review
Welcome back! It was so nice seeing all of my students and sharing stories of the holidays! I loved all of my hugs and "I missed you". As for class, we were fortunate enough to use this week to review all that we learned last year with chrome books. Students were assigned various tasks to submit via email, Google Classroom, .... based on what they missed on the Fall Benchmark. Each student's project was individualized to meet their needs and understanding of misconceptions about the content.
Next Week's Review
We begin a new unit! It is Electricity & Magnetism.
Monday & Tuesday: Electrical Charges
Wednesday: Bill Nye Video, Van de Graff generator
Thursday & Friday: Series & Parallel Circuits
Monday, January 18th is Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
Van de Graff Generator
Students will have be shocked (literally) when they experiment with this generator! Its fun to understand how the electrical charges build up on the surface and transfer to the person who touches it!
Flashlights
We will be making flashlights on Friday, Jan. 22nd. Please bring in a toilet paper roll, 2 Dsized batteries, and anything else you may want to decorate it with.
Electricity Project
The last week in January is our project. Students will take a shoe box and design a room. It will have at least one working light on a switch, door, and window. Students will choose whether they put it on a series or parallel circuit. Start saving up your supplies!
Electricty Quiz is Thursday, January 21st
