Parents of currently enrolled students may re-enroll their students and their siblings on Monday, Feb 11. If you pay tuition for your child to attend BEC then you will have to re-enroll your child for the 19-20 school year. If your child receives Special Education services via an IEP, specifically "specialized instruction is school readiness skills" then you do not have to re-enroll your child. Thus far we have gotten several calls and emails for clarification. That is great! Keep them coming, we want to answer any questions you have!
Speaking of next year, if your BEC student is on their way to kindergarten, you do not have to register them at their elementary school. This is true for ALL BEC students, whether you pay tuition or not. We send all the necessary information to the appropriate elementary school. Elementary schools may have various welcome activities for incoming students, so feel free to contact your child's school to get information about that, but we have your registration paperwork covered!
One more thing! The third and final WSD GPS meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at Timberland High School. We want your input as the district develops its next five year comprehensive school improvement plan. Please click here for the details.
Enrollment for Kindergarten Summer Journey is Open!
WSD is pleased to offer a Summer School Program for incoming Kindergarteners (those who will be 5 by July 31, 2019) called Summer Journey and is free of charge for our families. The Summer Journey program provides an opportunity for students to engage with multi-sensory activities for meaningful engagement with the learning process. In the morning, students' knowledge of the natural world is fostered along with concepts such as color and shape recognition, counting and sorting, fine-motor development, and phonemic awareness. In the afternoon, students engage in hands on learning with an out of this world astronaut theme!
DATES: June 3 - June 27. School will be in session Monday - Thursday.
LOCATIONS: Summer Journey will be held at five elementary schools. Placement of your student will depend on where they will attend school in August 2019.
TIMES: 8:20 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.
WSD's Summer Journey partner, Catapult Learning, will again provide gift cards to students who meet attendance criteria.

I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Education from Lindenwood University. When I’m not working or studying, I am spending time with my family. I have a husband, two dogs, and a sweet baby boy on the way! We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter in our lives.
