CTE Prime
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), now in its fifth year, is a nationwide celebration that gives businesses, communities, and educators the opportunity to showcase their apprenticeship programs and apprentices while providing valuable information to career seekers. NAW 2019 will be held November 11-17, 2019.
Weekly Brief
1.One topic I am discussing with the nurses involves students who do not have certain immunizations. Schools handle this differently in the state and we are reviewing our policies.
2. There is an interesting site called Tallo that would allow our students to showcase themselves and connect them with various opportunities after high school. We are reviewing this to determine if this could be beneficial for our students.
3. Mike Edge and I are discussing the value of the marking period data and whether or not there are there other things we could do to increase the use and functionality of the information. We will continue this year with the reports we've had in the past, but are open to change.
Up Ahead: Step UP
1. 12th annual vision coalition conference will be held at Clayton hall on the 12th. Hodgson's award winning culinary arts program is a key feature, along with our CNAP programs at HVT and HHS.
2. Many of our students are touring M. Davis this week.
3. Attend FocusED professional learning in Nov.
All active school leaders are invited to attend FocusED. This targeted professional learning allows attendees to interact with national experts on today's biggest topics in education. Jimmy Casas is our guest on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Sessions start at 3:45 p.m. at Waters in Appo. Register for PDMS course #28325.

Going Beyond...
This is a good one-stop-shop for a variety of strategies teachers can utilize in their classrooms. You'll notice a lot of Kagan in this work. This is from Connie Hamilton's Hacking Questions book.
You can follow Connie on twitter as well, she posts very useful content. @conniehamilton
