FJVD Weekly Info

We Live the Word!

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Father Doyle Families,

It's turning into an annual tradition that we get a significant snowstorm during Catholic Schools Week! However, ultimately not even 12"-18" of snow can dampen our excitement for the start of Catholic Schools Week 2022! We will kick things off - weather dependent, of course - with our Catholic Schools Mass and Open House on Sunday. Families will be informed via text message alert if the Mass and/or Open House is cancelled/postponed due to the storm.

Then, Monday kicks-off our school-wide events with the start of our "Soup-er Bowl" donation drive and school Mass. All of the details for Catholic Schools Week can be found in the At-A-Glance document here, as well a detailed description of all events here. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Re-Enrollment for the 2022-2023 School Year

As communicated earlier today via email, re-enrollment is now open for current families! In order to provide current families with priority for enrollment, we strongly encourage all current families to re-enroll within the window of January 28th through February 11th. All current families who re-enroll within this window are guaranteed a spot for the 2022-2023 school year. Please note, with some classes currently at capacity, we are not able to guarantee a spot for current families who attempt to re-enroll after February 11th.

I am grateful for your continued dedication and support this year, and I pray that you will continue to entrust us with your children’s education and formation by re-enrolling for the 2022-2023 school year.

The Annual Father John V. Doyle School Auction

Save the date for our Annual FJVD Auction Dinner, Saturday March 26, 2022 at Quonset O Club, with a Silent Auction Livestreamed Kickoff Event one week prior. Proceeds will go to support the first phase of the FJVD Classroom Renovation Project: the purchase of new desks and chairs for two of our classrooms! See below for samples!

The Auction Committee is continuing to ask for donations of Gift Cards from local businesses and for other items to be used for the Auction. Our Wish Board is up and located at all three entrances to the Church, and can also be found online at

Businesses and individuals can purchase ad space in this year's auction program and on our auction website. Ad pricing is as follows: Small $50; Medium (1/2 page) $100; Large (full page) $200. If you are interested in purchasing an ad or becoming an event Sponsor please email Jen at or call Fr. Woolley at 821-5764 if you’d like to learn more about our Partners in Education program which encompasses all our major FJVD Events.

Thank you again for all your support, and helping to make each year's auction a huge success!

Lastly, as communicated via email earlier today, the school has made updates to its bullying policy. You can find the updated policy here, as well as on our the homepage of our school website.

Stay safe and warm this weekend! God bless, and Go Saints!

Last Week:

Tests Completed On-Site - Week of 1/16-1/22: 35

Student Positive Cases - Week of 1/16 - 1/22: 4

Staff Positive Cases - Week of 1/16-1/22: 1

This Week:

Tests Completed On-Site* - Week of 1/23-1/29: 33

Student Positive Cases - Week of 1/23-1/29: 6*

Staff Positive Cases - Week of 1/23-1/29: 0

*Despite two more student cases this week compared to last week, of these six cases, only two were in school during the infectious period and resulted in the implementation of our Monitor to Stay program. This is testament to the effectiveness of our current preventative protocols and safety measures.

Please note, tests completed on-site does not represent the total number of tests performed on all members the school population, as some testing, including identification of some positive cases, is conducted at state sites.

In addition, rapid tests used to end isolation early are not included in the testing numbers, as these individuals had previously tested positive.

Lastly, the positive case date is determined by the date the positive test was administered.

Scheduling a Test for Your Symptomatic Student

If your child develops symptoms and is need of a PCR test to return to school, we recommend scheduling a drive-up test at the school. We usually receive results within 24-48 hours, which is must faster than the current turnaround time at state sites.

You can schedule that test here:

Please note, the link will be updated each week with the days that PCR testing is available. You do not need a new link each week.

We are only able to offer drive-up PCR testing on certain days based on the availability of our nurses. Thank you for your understanding!

Ordering Lunch through the FACTS Family Portal

We have heard feedback from families that it is difficult to know when the lunch menu for each month has been posted and will be closed for ordering.

With this in mind, we have contacted the provider and developed the following schedule:

  • The lunch menu will open for ordering on the 7th of the month prior (i.e. the March lunch menu will be available February 7th)
  • Ordering will close on the 14th of each month (i.e. the March lunch menu will close on February 14th)

We hope this new schedule will assist families is submitting their lunch orders. If you have difficulty ordering lunch through the FACTS Family Portal, please contact Mrs. Boiardi at

Thank you!

Ice Cream Orders- February

As you may have seen, we have piloted ice cream ordering through our FACTS Lunch Menu ordering system for the month of February.

Many families have ordered through this new system. If you have ordered ice cream through FACTS for this upcoming month, there is no need to place another order.

If your child does not order lunch through FACTS, or you were unable to order ice cream through the FACTS Lunch Menu, you can still order as you have done in the past through the Google Form found here: February Ice Cream Orders.

Thank you!

Aluminum Can Tab Collection

What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected

Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence

How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.

Bottle Cap Drive

We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.

All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.

Thank you!
