"Music Counts Every Day" at HES - Each morning as we get the day started next week at HES we will be listening to The Slavonic Dances by Anton Dvorak.
The Slavonic Dances are a set of pieces of music composed by Anton Dvorak between 1878 and 1886. They were originally written for 2 people playing one piano (four hands). The Slavonic Dances were inspired by Johannes Brahms own Hungarian Dances and were later arranged for the orchestra. The music is lively and describes the culture of the country of Czechoslovakia during the nineteenth century.
Many composers who lived during this time looked for ideas for their music by listening to small village groups playing their music and watching them dancing and acting out their folk tales.
The question this week is:
How many Slavonic Dances did Dvorak write?
The answer to last week’s question is:
The river that flows through London is called the THAMES.
Two bubbles/water drops for a correct answer.
